Welcome to our new and exciting Workshop list below, full day and half day courses to test both your skills and imagination. We have added several new tutors who bring their fresh ideas and our existing tutors have again been working hard on new and different workshops. Join us for a full day or half day workshop and learn, laugh and above all have fun.

MONDAY 23RD MARCH 2020 ROMAN BLIND MAKING FOR BEGINNERS With Bea Henderson. Learn how to make Roman Blinds by making a sample blind which is lined, machine and hand sewn. You will be given written instructions as well as guidance on measuring and calculating fabric requirements, including current advice on legal child safety regulations. Basic machine and hand sewing skills required. All materials and equipment provided. 10am to 4pm fee £60
TUESDAY 24TH MARCH 2020 INTRODUCTION TO FREE MACHINE EMBROIDERY with Jenni Cadman. Discover how to use your sewing machine as a drawing tool and widen your horizons in fabric decoration. This technique lends itself to many applications- quilts, embroidered pictures, clothing, accessories and soft furnishings. Basic sewing machine skills are required with a working knowledge of your sewing machine. Please bring your sewing machine in full working order together with your handbook and a free embroidery (darning) foot. All other equipment and materials will be supplied. 10am to 4pm fee £60
FRIDAY 27TH MARCH 2020 HAND EMBROIDERY-STUMPWORK CROCUS With Annette Bolton. A beautiful crocus worked in raised Stumpwork techniques. Hand surface embroidery together with wired shapes, in all of purples or yellows. A lovely project for spring. All materials and equipment provided. 10am to 4pm fee £60
MONDAY 6TH APRIL 2020 MACHINE EMBROIDERED PENTAGONAL CASKET With Lynn Horniblow. Learn how to make a three dimensional vessel using layering techniques and decorative stitches on the sewing machine. The pentagonal casket will be finished with cords, trims and beads all made using the sewing machine; with just a little hand work to finish the construction. Basic sewing machine skills are required. Materials and equipment provided. 10am to 4pm fee £60
FRIDAY 17TH APRIL 2020 HAND EMBROIDERY: REDWORK PINCUSHION With Annette Bolton. Redwork is an American style hand embroidery, using red threads. A simple but effective design is embroidered and embellished with buttons and beads. All materials and equipment provided 10am to 4pm fee £60
MONDAY 20TH APRIL 2020. CURTAIN MAKING FOR BEGINNERS.With Bea Henderson.Make a sample curtain,lined with machine tape heading and hand finished hems.You will be given written instructions as well as guidance on measuring,pattern making and calculating fabric requirements.Basic machine and hand sewing skills required.Materials and equipment provided.Fee £60.
THURSDAY 23RD APRIL 2020 PATCHWORK TECHNIQUES; JELLY ROLL STRIPS, WITH A TWIST. With Lynn Horniblow Working with jelly roll strips in three colours, you will cut, stitch and match a mix of squares and triangles to form the repeat pattern for the centre block. The leftovers will then be used creatively to finish with a two pattern border. This panel would make a great cushion front or if you feel ambitious, the first of many blocks for a large quilt. Basic sewing machine skills required. Materials and equipment supplied 10am to 4pm Fee £60.00
FRIDAY 24TH APRIL 2020 PATCHWORK TECHNIQUES:FABRIC LANDSCAPES With Mary Bird Make a small scale applique landscape picture. Create mountains, lakes and fields by using an easy free form cutting techniques. Add hedgerows, trees and other details, then decide whether to stitch the fabrics together by hand or to use invisible machine applique. For the final touch, embroider grasses and flowers in the foreground. All materials and equipment will be provided. 10am to 4pm fee £60
MONDAY 11TH MAY 2020.CUSHION MAKING BASICS With Bea Henderson.Make a plain zipped and piped cushion sample.You will go home with the skills to fill your house with professionally made cushions that complement your decor.Basic machine sewing skills are required.Materials and equipment provided. 1Oam to 4pm Fee £60.
