Coats have just re-issued “Patons First Steps in Crochet”. If you are looking for something a little different try the “crochet ties for the country look” or a “dashing little bolero”. And yes I did make a crochet blanket when this book was first published. I have also been known to run up a rather dashing “Tea Cosy” in my time as well. You will find this and other gems in “Patons Woolcraft”. Great nostalgia.
Stylecraft’s Sassy gives you a choice of eight bright colours in an easy to knit Chunky yarn. I knitted my scarf in next to no time. Knit one of the new lnog cardigans, or an oversized jumper and you’ll be snug for winter and ready for the March winds.

Marrakech is textured double knitting with a difference. Choose from eight multi colours for your cardigan or jacket.
For understated glitz I’ve just completed a cardigan in a warm mulberry colour sprinkled with silver from the “Stardust” collection. And my over-the-top glitz is a scarf in “Cabaret”. It’s soft, bright, a dream to knit and keeps me really warm. Everyone wants one.
We now have over 5,000 rolls of Craft Fabrics to offer you. Choose from hundreds of background fabrics. A whole host of novelty prints and lots of beautiful florals.
Concord have produced another winner with their latest feline production. Their ever popular labels are not only perfect for cards. Try them in a quilt. Use them for your bags and cushions. We have added Laurel Burch buttons to our cat selection alongside her fabulous fabrics.
The Rowan series of books are wonderful. Both for their designs, and their beautiful photography. I love the tactile bag from the “Big Wool” book. Their gorgeous oversized jumpers are just right to snuggle up in on cold winter days. And I just have to knit their long and short cardigans. Big wool knits up fast on big big needles.
New yarns from Patons include Lush, Lulu and Essence. My Lush scarf is in “Carnival” ~ the perfect combination of pinks and reds ~ and my next project will be the cardigan on the left in “Velvet”, rich and dark – the colour of grapes. Maybe you would prefer Mink, Plush, Delicious, Meadow, Autumn or Bounty. Essence is light as air and soft as a cloud. Eight beautiful muted shades fro that understated look. Lulu is similar to Foxy. I’ve knitted scarves in both Ruby and Amethyst and a shrug in Ruby. Light and warm, it is a joy to wear.
Sirdar have come up trumps this autumn. New colours have been added to the luxury yarns Foxy, Funky Fur and Funky Fur Magic and I love the colourful addition of Frenzy. It’s bright, light and beautiful to knit. “Curly Wurly” is fun, funky and full of texture. Easy to knit and great fro scarves, bags and waistcoats.
Add a touch of elegance and sophistication to your knitting with this glamourous Firefly. Beautiful designs for you to knit in this ultra-light yarn are put together for you all in one booklet.
Bigga is a big yarn knitted on big needles – fast. You’ll love the patterns and the choice of colours.
From the traditional English blooms to exotic oriental blossoms, flowers are everywhere. What does your garden quilt grow.
Starry, starry night. Just like the clear frosty nights our shelves are full of stars. Make a celestial quilt and capture the moment. Add them to your scrapbooking and cardmaking. |
