‘Tagliatelle’ Tote Bag

Transparent Cut Work

The design is revealed by cutting away some of the sheer fabrics to reveal hidden colours underneath and using a soldering iron to burn away other parts of the design. Reverse Applique

Reverse Applique is similar to the bold and colourful Mola work of the Kuna Indian women of Panama and traditionally used for women’s blouses. In this workshop up to six layers of different fabrics are first machine stitched together, then cut through to reveal hidden colours beneath. Hand or machine embroidery can then be used for embellishment. Please bring an image of your choice to create a simple personal design for a small hanging.
